A few words on the Snow at Lookout Pass

Lookout Pass has no detail snow data, but is acclaimed throughout the interior Northwest as having by far the snowiest microclimate in the region. There can be occasional rain at the elevation range of 4,500 - 5,700 feet. A personal visit on a Sunday yielded untracked snow all day long during a raging snowstorm.

Accumulation and Preservation

Early season accumulation should be excellent, due to moderate terrain along with the high snowfall. Preservation if it has not snowed recently is average at best with the relatively low elevation and a wide range of exposures.
