A few words on the Snow at Blacktail Mountain
Blacktail has no detail snow data, but we accept the published average of 250 inches snowfall, slightly less than Whitefish, its more famous neighbor to the north. Like other interior Northwest areas Blacktail can get occasional rain. Blacktail is not well known and only open 5 days a week, so powder should last a long time.
Accumulation and PreservationBlacktail’s early season accumulation should be about average for western destinations. Exposure is mostly north, so snow preservation should be decent. Blacktail like many resorts has its most reliable snow conditions from mid-January to mid-March.
