3.0%Powder King Mountain Resort is ranked No. 4 in North America for its total snowfall during an average season.
Accounts for resorts' snow quantity, moisture content, latitude, elevation, and slope aspects.
This score accounts for total snow quantity, its moisture content, the resort's latitude, elevation, and its slope aspects, which affect total snow preservation.
Powder KIng Resort is far off the beaten track so information is hard to come by. However there is a Canadian Government hydrology station within the ski area boundary, which documents a winter snowpack greater than Snowbird's in Utah. Located far from the Pacific, Powder King's snow quality should also be comparable to the Wasatch, Tetons or Selkirk mountains.
Accumulation and PreservationThere is no question that early season accumulation is excellent at Powder King, assisted also by the 55 degree latitude. While elevation range of 3,100 - 5,200 feet is modest and primary exposure is east, we would not expect melt/freeze conditions until sometime in March.
