White Pass has no detail snow data, but the resort claim of 380 inches is consistent with other Cascade mountain passes in Washington State. The key risk to snow conditions is not drought but rain. This is a minor issue for the locals, who can sit out the wet weather and wait to ski the next week’s dump. It does, however, make planning a big trip involving air travel here more of a gamble. Elevation range of 4,500 - 6,500 is higher than some Washington areas so rain risk should be somewhat less. White Pass is the local area for Yakima, so midweek powder should be much less competitive than at the areas closer to Seattle.
Accumulation and PreservationWith ample snowfall White Pass should have a very good early season track record. It's also half north facing, more favorable exposure than most Cascade areas. Nonetheless January and February are likely the most reliable months at White Pass.
