A few words on the Snow at Mt Lemmon Ski Valley

Mt. Lemmon Ski Valley has no detail snow data, but we estimate 125 inches snowfall, in view of its location as the southernmost ski area in the United States. Mt. Lemmon's latitude generally sees more precipitation in summer than winter, with exception of strong El Nino winters

Accumulation and Preservation

In the driest winters Mt. Lemmon does not get enough snow to open at all. When there is snow it preserves fairly well in midwinter due to primary north exposure. By mid-February the sun is strong enough for melt/freeze conditions to develop.
