A few words on the Snow at Great Divide

Great Divide has no detail snow data, but we accept the published average of 180 inches snowfall, due to its location far leeward of the Idaho/Montana divide. Great Divide is open 5 days a week, allowing time for snow to accumulate.

Accumulation and Preservation

Great Divide’s early season openings are above average due to much more snowmaking and more moderate terrain than most Montana areas. Exposure is mostly east and north, so snow preserves well in the cold climate. Great Divide is most reliable in February and March.
