Accounts for resorts' snow quantity, moisture content, latitude, elevation, and slope aspects.
This score accounts for total snow quantity, its moisture content, the resort's latitude, elevation, and its slope aspects, which affect total snow preservation.
Granite Peak has no detail snow data, but we accept the published average of 75 inches snowfall, due to its central Wisconsin location.
Accumulation and PreservationGranite Peak's cold climate facilitates early season snowmaking. Rain is about as frequent as in the Northeast but rarely as intense. The limited acreage can be more easily restored with snowmaking and grooming than at larger and steeper areas in the Northeast. Relatively flat Midwest ski terrain will routinely melt/freeze in warm weather or March sun.
