A few words on the Snow at Turner Mountain

Turner Mt. has no detail snow data, so we estimate 300 inches snowfall, in line with Whitefish about 50 miles away. Like other interior Northwest areas Turner can get occasional rain at its elevation range of 3,800 – 5,900 feet. Turner is remote, not well known and only open 4 days a week, so powder can last a very long time.

Accumulation and Preservation

Turner’s early season accumulation should be about average for western destinations. Primary exposure is east, so widespread melt/freeze conditions are likely by mid-February if it is sunny. January and February are the most reliable months at Turner.
