A few words on the Snow at Silver Mountain Resort

Silver Mt. has no detail snow data, so we estimate 275 inches snowfall, consistent with other interior Northwest areas. Like other interior Northwest areas Silver Mt. can get occasional rain. Even though Silver's gondola base is just off Interstate 90, it has a local reputation for low skier density and powder lasting a very long time.

Accumulation and Preservation

Silver Mt. early season accumulation should be average for western areas. Silver has a higher proportion of north facing terrain than most areas in its region and thus better snow preservation. Silver Mt. like many resorts has its most reliable snow conditions from mid-January to mid-March.
