The leaders at the erstwhile Squaw Valley made a good choice when they picked Palisades Tahoe for the new name of their ski mountain.

Palisades refers to one of the ski mountain's most known features and the piece of the resort most-often seen in ski movies where stars, most famously Shane McConkey, made their name.

Tahoe, of course, is the unshakeable one-word descriptor of the region and the lake from which it draws its name.
